Meituan introduces food delivery app KeeTa in Hong Kong

On Monday, Chinese food delivery giant Meituan launched a sibling app in Hong Kong named KeeTa, kicking off its first roll-out outside of mainland China. The new service will start out in Mong Kok and Tai Kok Tsui, expanding to the entire Hong Kong region by the end of this year. New users can earn coupons worth HK$300 when they first register on the platform, and will be able to order from well-known brands such as McDonald’s, KFC, and Maxim. Meituan explained in a press release that KeeTa draws inspiration from the cheetah, the sprinter of the animal world, and aims to become an “exceptional and enduring” presence in the Hong Kong market, as the company looks to the territory to help spur its growth.
